If you want to send mail or packages, you may find it necessary to go to a real post office where you can buy actual stamps, or some services that you may not find in the postal agency in school. So, where is there a post office in Sejong City?
The closest one to KDI School would be in Cheotmaeul. To get there, take the 992 bus from school and get off at the last stop (cheotmaeul).
Cross the street and keep walking for about 15 minutes. Take a look at this map:
They will help you pack and ship, there’s a limit to mailing packages up to 20 kilos.
Rates depend on destination and weight. Just to give you an idea, a package that weights the max amount permitted (20 kgs) has the following cost to ship:
82,000 East Asia
130,300 Southeast Asia
150,100 Central Asia, North America, Europe, Middle East, Oceania
253,700 Latin America, The Caribbean, Pacific Islands, Africa
For a post card should go anywhere in the world for 680 won or less, and a letter of about 200 grams should run you about 3,040 wons or less to get anywhere in the planet. Of course, not really *anywhere*, as you know they probably can’t ship to a few rare spots, such as their northern neighbors…
Detailed info on rates and destinations can be found at the Korea Post English Website here.
