If you already registered for Sejong City’s Ouling public bike system, the very last step before you actually ride the bike is to actually choose how to do check it out. Here I will explain how to use both methods: through your smartphone or through your T-Money card as a ‘key’. If you want to register, follow these instructions.
Remember that in any method, you will get an automated text message letting you know that the rent has started and that you have 90 minutes to put the bike back in any station in the city (it can be a different one than the one you borrowed the bike from). If you take longer, they will bill you for it. It will also text you when the bike has been successfully returned.
Once you mastered this basic functions, don’t forget to check out the advanced functions of the bike the very last part of our tutorial! Ride on!
Method 1: T-Money card as a Key.
(Scroll down for Method 2: Ouling Smartphone App.)
Requirements: Any t-money card.
The card is not used to pay, so it does not matter if you have balance in it or not. If you want to change the card later, you can simply register the new one again by following these instructions.
First, head to the automated kiosk at any bike station.
Should look like this:
Once this is done, you can check out your bike following these easy instructions:
Type your PIN number using the bike’s buttons. When finished, press button 1 as “enter/ok”.
You will hear the bike talking and it will also make a slight buzzing sound, which is the sound of the lock being disengaged. You can now take your bike. 😀
Method 2: using the Ouling App. (Android Only)
First, install the app. Click here for the Google Play Store.
You will hear the bike talking and it will also make a slight buzzing sound, which is the sound of the lock being disengaged. You can now take your bike for 90 minutes!!
Enjoy the ride !!
